As of last week pop culture has been freaking out as Mercury entered retrograde on July 7th in fire-sign Leo and ends on July 31st in water-sign Cancer. Don’t fret, both good and bad opportunities are amongst us, mostly good if you are open to working with the energies of the planet. What is Mercury Retrograde? Well, Mercury is a messenger planet. It’s responsible for how we think, plan ahead, like to get from A to B, and the manner in which communicate or exchange information with others. During retrograde Mercury is traveling backwards thus bringing up unresolved issues. Btw, have you hear from your ex recently? What Else? The Zodiac signs effected the most during retrograde are Gemini and Virgo which are ruled by planet mercury. These signs, also classified as mutable signs, Gem, Virgo, Sag & Pisces are all adaptable chameleons, flexible and thrive on change. Sarcastically speaking, we will be sure to fit right in no matter what retrograde throws at us. Retrograde is associated with uncertainty, confusion, doubt and effects communication and decision-making skills. If you seem unable to think straight, mercury retrograde might be hitting you hard. As many know, superstitions surrounding the retrograde advise us not to sign contracts, not to buy huge pieces of technology, and not to plan huge trips. However, mercury retrograde doesn’t have to be a bad thing as it is often misunderstood as some sort of bad omen against the world. Remember, stuff goes wrong ALL THE TIME and daily life issues will still go on as mercury spins backwards causing us to want to link every mistake or failure to it. Remember, the retrograde has its effects but having a deeper understanding of it is beneficial to surviving it. The Signs Mercury Retrograde Are Expected To Effect The Most & A Little Advice For Each Sign Virgo: Try not to jump to conclusions and remember that communication from others may be misunderstood during this time. Gemini: Think before you speak Leo: Double check everything and get rest Cancer: Create a sacred place you can go to experience your intense emotions. Rely on friends for support if necessary. Advice For All 1. Check your paperwork 2. Double check plans with friends 3. Try not to make hasty decisions 4. Ensure important messages are carefully worded If you feel extremely overwhelmed, slow down and try to ask for some outside perspective from a friend If you find all your survival techniques are failing think the word “Maktub”, a word I learned from reading The Alchemist meaning “It is written”. In other words: You Got This, What’s Meant To Be Will Be.

A link to find out more about the event and speakers: curvysummerscene.com/speakers/ If you are in the Texas area and would like to attend check out the link below: curvysummerscene.com/attend/ See you soon. Yesterday, I attended an event for Upcoming Plus Size Models hosted by Tabria Majors & Mindy J., or 'Tabrindy'. The energy was amazing and true authenticity wasn't lacking which I really appreciated because the gems that were dropped which would've normally been kept on the low weren’t - they kept it all the way real for us. (Who has time for pump fake? AND ya' girl Tabria Majors is even finer in person 😫❤️).
They spoke on stepping into the modeling industry, hosted a mini runway show, held one of their podcasts live (jokes) and we participated in a live photoshoot with Candice Kelly, XO. ALL in ALL it was an amazing experience filled with positive energy, fun, knowledge, and jokes. Check out their FUTURE podcast & events here: https://www.thethickpodcast.com. so you made it...
Firstly, I want to take the time out to thank everyone who is visiting my blog to read my first post. If you had the chance to read my bio you'll find that aside from modeling I am a student of psychology and have a passion for helping others by either simply sharing my energy or life's journey with others. (Know that I don't have a problem getting on the nitty gritty topics though. Life isn't always peaches and cream). Growing up isn’t easy. From the time you’re conceived, your growth and development are heavily influenced by other people. Individuals such as your parents, relatives, and friends all play a major role when you're forming your identity. The combined impact of your personal experiences and your environment help you learn how to deal with trauma, stressors, and the way you perceive the world around you. I look forward to discussing such topics in my future blogs, not only to inspire, but to show what can be done through perseverance. I personally understand that it can be challenging being a product of your environment. Because, especially at an early age, we are not always in control of what happens to us. However, it is imperative to learn how to use your individual qualities and skill set to rise above negative influences. When we reach “adulthood,” we gain a little more freedom in regards to controlling our destinies. We have more choices to make, but the right choices can put us in the position for greater opportunity. I say this to say that sometimes we are not in control of what happens in our life but once we gain the freedom in regards to controlling our destinies. We have more choices to make, but the right choices can put us in the position for greater opportunity. I grew up poor in an inner-city community (another topic I will elaborate on later......) and statistics aren't saying the most positive things about those of us who have had a rough, or traumatic, childhood. Littler side note or whatever: I may use the terms rough and traumatic interchangeably. Luckily, our brains maintain the ability to change far into our aging process, basically up until the day we die, so in turn we maintain the ability control over our futures. You already know though, I get it. SO, what's next right? Well I'm really just here to say that if you've ever felt discouraged, hopeless, alone, or experienced a tragedy, perhaps you're not alone. Not only are you not alone, but you can take care of your life. Intuition, is something I like to think of as a clairvoyant existence within everyone. It is a very real thing and chances are you already know what to do. YOU HAVE THE POWER TO REDIRECT YOUR LIFE. I'll leave you with that. I'll be back with the juice, later. |
